Fish Cam - Live aquarium streaming

Scroll down for five different fish cam viewing options.

You control the volcano eruption and the afterhours lighting. We are using webcamxp to serve the video on the fish cams. We have a Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX to serve as Fishcam #1 and a generic, no brand, webcam serving as FishCam #2. The images of the office are coming from an Axis 210 surveillance camera. The cam server is a generic Pentium 4 workstation with 1 gig of memory. It is tucked away under the aquarium next to the sump system. The server is able to handle upwards of 30 viewers simultaneously.

*Interactivity Alert 2/6/2009* The Volcano is installed and working great. You can control the erupting effect through the controls under each webcam image. The volcano is not visible from cam 1 but in view of the other webcams.

*Interactivity Alert 1/28/2009* The network hardware is installed. We are waiting for the Volcano to arrive.  The controls for the volcano are located on each FishCam page but it is currently hooked up to a bubbler only visible on the COTD Cam page.  We are considering this release to be Volcano Beta 1. A second control is for the night light. If the tank is dark, after hours, click the light switch to turn on a dim blue lamp that illuminates a portion of the tank. The light will stay on for five minutes and then turn off.

*Interactivity Alert 1/27/2009* A new interactive volcano is on its way! Buttons that will control the volcano's eruption will be placed on the cam pages so that you can blast away. Check back soon for installation details.

This is a 125 gallon AGA fresh water aquarium. The aquarium is heavily planted. The fish seem to enjoy the live plants. It gives the fish plenty of hiding spots and the live plants go a long way in keeping the water quality up. The residents are 11 clown loaches, 4 tin foil barbs, a common plec, 6 blood parrot cichlids, 1 green terror and 3 giant dainios. An under tank sump system does the filtering. The lighting is a two phase compact fluorescent with actinic moon lighting to help support the plants. CO2 is also being released into the tank to keep the plants green and flourishing. The lights are turned off from 10:30pm through 8:30am EST. The lights and CO2 are all controlled with timers.
